AIMS & OBJECTIVES @ MEDIATION

CSC endeavors to promote mediation as a low-cost dispute resolution mechanism, with the vision of empowering parties to take on the responsibility of resolving their disputes. We believe that a substantial number and variety of disputes can be settled by parties, through discussions in understanding why the dispute arose, conveying and listening to each other's perspectives to the disagreement and looking at convergence of interests where the disputes can be resolved.

We work collectively to enhance awareness and encourage litigants, lawyers and Courts to embark on mediation as a process for amicable resolution of disputes pending in the Courts. Mediation is a far more satisfactory both time and cost effective process of resolving disputes as compared to litigation.

In recent years, Mediation has become the fastest growing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) method, one that is increasingly favoured method to handle a broad spectrum of conflicts from personal and family disputes to commercial disagreement from complex high value controversies to run-of-the-mill situations. Workplace disputes, shareholders disputes, employment disputes, association disputes, intellectual property disputes, cross border conflicts etc. are all amenable to resolution through mediation.

It has caught the attention of judges, advocates, policy makers, corporations and other users, and has emerged as an attractive alternative to litigation. The field of private mediation is starting to take off in India, with corporate and other users becoming aware of the advantages.

At CSC we conduct Awareness and Training Programs.
